Come to Mama...

You'll be all mine next Friday!
I can hardly wait and neither can my 3 jumbo hampers of dirty clothes.

Beer Olympics

I made this t-shirt design for a friends "Beer Olympics" party.
Cute right?

I Passed!

What a relief!

(Especially since I did my shopping spree 2 days ago in Detroit!)

Architect Registration Exams: 1 of 9

I'm doing a new feature on the right side of this page. It shows my progress on the exams as well as my "post test drink" and "passing prize" for each one. Yes, I'm 5 and need a prize. So there.

Because I am a sick, sick person,

with a sick, demented sense of humor.

Our office holiday party was Friday. We do a white elephant gift exchange, and this year theme was "something from your house". Piece of cake! We have tons of junk... or so I thought. Well, think again. I couldn't find anything. We cleaned the basement, we cleaned the piles out of the yard, and all of our unwanted tacky gifts are packed away and I had zero motivation to go digging thru them.

So, I had a sick, sick idea:

Looks innocent enough right?

Tuna is very interested.

hmmm, smells funny.

"Porch kitty needs a proper burial."

Told you I was demented.

It is actually one of those rotisserie chickens from the grocery that Marc and I pulled off the meat off of (and then made soup out of it). The person who opened it screamed.

And I won a $20 Lowe's gift card for worst gift.

Thanks Porch Kitty.

(If you are confused, read these posts, Porch Kitty and Boo-Boo Kitty.)

What I did when I should have been studying: 2

Bought a chair!

Cool right? We got it cheap at a local flea market.

And for the record, I did study for 8 hours yesterday.

My Second Real Christmas Tree

Ok, well that is not very true because I have had a live tree this size before (in my375sf hoboken apartment!).

Here are Marc and Tuna enjoying the tree together.
Notice the scary wall in the bedroom beyond. Ah, gotta love the Crack House.

My first Real Christmas Tree

Marc can hardly believe it, coming from the tree-farm plentiful state of Michigan, but this year's real, full size tree is a first for me. While growing up, I was in charge of putting our tree together, which was no small feat when we had this really old one where all the color markings had worn off!

Anybunny, we cracked open a bottle of wine and went to decorating. With only one snafu of blowing a light strand fuse. Who knew you couldn't string about 12 strands together?

I love the way the tree turned out. Plus I made a wreath out of the trimmings with silver balls and candy cane hearts. Watch out, Martha!

An Early Happy Holidays to everyone.

(I'm feeling a little sentimental because Marc's got Charlie Brown Christmas music on and I've had 1/2 bottle of wine.)

What I did when I should have been studying.

I would like to introduce a new feature to my blog, a running post titled: "What I did when I should have been studying".

This will likely appear very often for the next 1.5 years, as I am studying for my 9 ARE (architect registration exams). Yes, I said 9.

Nine. Niner. Ninareno.
And they all cost over $100. And they take AT LEAST a month to study for. And do not have pass rates over 75%. AND when you are all said and done, you don't really get much of a raise or promotion or anything really. You do get to call yourself an Architect, but you can also be sued. Terrific. Remind me again why I didn't go into investment banking??

Anybunny, here's the first installation of...(drumroll please)...

What I did when I should have been studying

#1: Made A dress.

#2 Drove to farm, found, and cut down a tree.

#3: Repeat #2, but with a bigger tree.

#4: Go thru all papers 1999-present sort, file/trash & clean desk.

#5: "decorate" house.
(sorry this pic is horrible because it was raining and we haven't decorated the trees yet.)

I think by the end of this testing, I'm going to win some procrastination merit badge.
