Please don't show your disappointment

Because I wear mine on my sleeve. I try not to be too hard on Marc about the slow progress of the drywall finishing, but when preparing for this post, I noticed that I have two image folders, one labeled 0808-Drywall and another 0806-Drywall... and that depresses me.

He did almost finish with the ceiling and the walls will be easy after all.
I also finished reinforcing the dining room ceiling (finally). It is also ready for drywall.
But the big development is that after a week of my poor nephew Quinn looking like he contracted leprosy when it was just a million mosquito bites, we bought a screen door!
Of course, our front door is an odd size so we have to make this door longer by 3.5", but it will be great to have in! I'm sure it will beat covering up with a blanket in 90 degree heat to ward off bites.

  2. I agree.

Moving right along. I've got a painter who "subbed out" some of the roll out work to his friend.

I swear, the place looked closer to done BEFORE the sub started working. Why do clumsy spazes think they can paint?

Anyway, I like the way it's coming along. Finishing takes time, if it's done right.

Just keep at it. And keep your chin up!

  3. By the buy...

How is that cross bracing working? Does it stiffen the floors as much as you hoped?

I've got about 50 of them sitting on site waiting for the assiduous use of hammer and nail. I may let them go back to HD, however, if you aren't getting much out of them. ;)
