Boo Hoo, No More Scaring the Neighbors

1/27/09

Does that say "to scare" or "to scar" up there? Either way it is pretty fitting and it's after midnight, so I'm leaving it.

I just managed to hang the curtains in the parlor tonight in between getting home from work, eating and watching The Bachelor (seriously, don't judge me.) We've had the curtains (thermal ones from JCP I got on super sale) for months, but we just found the rods (also on super sale at JCP - sorry no link, but they were $17 each for a double satin nickel rod set!).

We ended up customizing them a bit, of course. We ended up cutting the extra bar from the single window to extend the rods to go beyond the window trim. Pretty easy. There will be white sheers hung on the inside, but I don't have them yet. Next on the list.

It just makes me feel like an adult to have curtains. Plus now I can watch all the What Not To Wear and Lockdown: Inside Maximum Security without fearing that all the neighbors and every person on the sidewalk is thinking that I'm a total freak.

And yes, I know I need to iron them. I'm just impatient and wanted to see how they looked. Ok, that's a half-truth. I'm actually hoping that the wrinkles will "hang themselves out", so to say.

  1. I have the same plan about the wrinkles magically going away.

  3. Finally! I knew I wasn't the only one left watching The Bachelor! Isn't it just garbage? But boy do I love it! If you ever want anyone to analyze it with, feel free to email me at kaclemens@hotmail.com.

  4. If the wrinkles don't fall out (and you still notice them), just get one of those travel clothes steamers for a couple bucks and give them a blast.

    Personally, I won't notice a wrinkle 10 minutes after they're hung. ;)
