Improvements to Date

I had to make a list of improvements for the appraiser. Looks pretty crazy on paper, especially when I think of all the heart-ache, splinters and dead animals associated with these items!


86'n It Improvements

Exterior

  • Replaced rotting cedar shakes and replaced flashing on upper level
  • Replaced rotting wood siding & trim
  • Scraped loose paint and fully caulked all joints and gaps
  • Replaced broken window glass and reglazed all windows
  • Painted exterior
  • Removed bathroom on back porch
  • Rebuilt back porch floor & column structure and provided new flooring & 2 exterior electrical outlets

Interior
  • Refinished wood flooring
  • Installed built-in speaker system throughout lower level
  • Structurally reinforced dining room ceiling joists and re-drywalled ceiling
  • Re-drywalled lower rear walls and provided wall insulation
  • Completely renovated kitchen:
  • Rebuilt and insulated all walls and ceiling
  • Enlarged wall opening from kitchen to dining room
  • New white float-glass front Jenn-Air kitchen appliances (refrigerator, dishwasher & European convection oven)
  • New kitchen cabinets & stainless steel sink
  • Removed, re-laid and refinished wood flooring in kitchen
  • Two new Velux SunTunnel solar tube lights
  • Basement:
  • New GE washer and dryer
  • Cleaned basement, removed 2” of soil from floor slab, & installed dehumidifier
  • New hot water heater
  • New pressure release valve at incoming water line
  • Replaced / repaired all basement windows
  • Framed and sheathed new lower level bathroom and guest room
  • Upper level bathroom:
  • New cork flooring on new floor structural joists & sub-floor
  • New wall board and wall tile
  • New vanity, clawfoot tub hardware & tin ceiling tiles

I' enjoying your blog, and I know you posted this a year ago (I'm going through your blog from start to finish...not much to do at work) and I noticed that until this point you've blocked out your address on your posts, but from this one, anyone can find where you live. Just in case you didn't realize that.
