Indi-Glo!

4/14/09

So...... don't hate me, but I changed the color. I figured out why I was having such a hard time picking between the 3 in the poll was because they weren't what I wanted. So I put away the Sherwin-Williams fan deck and whipped out the Ben Moore fan. It was love at first sight for me and Scandinavian Blue (which I have renamed "Indi-Glo!" - with the '!').

Let's take a little trip down memory lane. This is what this room looked like when we closed on the house. (There is a cat in this photo - play where's Waldo and find it!)

And here's my after shot. I realize this color is not for everyone, but heck, I'm not everyone. I absolutely love it. Marc wasn't so convinced as I was painting it because at 11pm and wet, it looks like Violet from Willy Wonka burst her blueberry-self in the room, but dry he loves it too. It's intense, so that is why we decided to leave the chimney white. Also, check out my design on no dimes black spray-painted twig art. Crafty, no?!

Here's so more pics including an example of the patched plaster cracks. Holy cow there were a ton of them! Next up, living room paint! Wait until you see what I have in store for that color! :)

  4. I agree, much better than the other three. That is a beautiful shade. I do suggest flipping the twig art up though, much like how horseshoes should face up to keep the luck inside. Otherwise, it's perfect!

  5. Good point about the twig art! I don't want to loose any luck that I already have!

  6. OK, now, THAT is a color. I have publicly said that I'm not a fan of blue, so I have to admit that it's not a color I'd use in my bedroom, but that's a really nice color.

In point of fact, I've always wanted that EXACT color on a door, preferably one opening out into my garden. I love color and I appreciate the choice, even if I couldn't bring it inside due to my own personal failings.

Great call on knowing that when a choice is too hard, it's the wrong choice.

  7. Gotta say that color is pure awesomeness! :-)

We went with Benny Moore's Downpour Blue for one of our rooms. It is just too faboo for words. We at first worried it was a bit extreme being so. . . well, blue and all. But it's grown on us too and we've decided the room will never be any other color but. lol

  8. I am sending this link to my husband, who laughed at my idea of twig on wall. I got rid of a perfectly gorgeous birch branch.

    They come and go.
