I Thought This Was Supposed to Be a Mild Winter?

12/22/09

It is not that it doesn't snow here. It does. But usually we get 2-4 inches and it melts the next day. So 12" of snow that last for 5 days is a big deal. The whole city shut down. 60k people lost power.

And I've never been more glad that we live close to downtown, especially now that I'm hugely pregnant and couldn't sit or lay down comfortably. On Saturday, we took 3 walks!

It is supposed to be aroung 50 today, so hopefully it will get things melting.

In other news, there has been communication with the counter top guy's son, mostly more wishy-washy "I have to have my dad call you" B.S., but at least it was satisfying for Marc to tell him, fine, but I'm not going to stop calling you and calling you until we have our deposit back. It continues...

  1. Im still bummed that it pretty much missed us. I think we got an inch or two. That whole thing about it's not how much, it's what you do with it thing is bullshit if you ask me.
Can't wait to see you next week!!

  2. Three cheers for downtown living!

When I moved here, people thought I was nuts to buy a condo downtown. I sacrificed space, but can walk everywhere. We've been enjoying the remains of the storm, which dumped over 20 inches here in Charlottesville, VA!
