We FINALLY got around to setting the 2nd counter top replacement piece, and good news: it is perfect! I just snapped a few quick pics of the joint. Our awesome contractor-neighbor Chris helped us install it.
Can't wait to put the side piece on and start the kitchen woodwork! Notice the finished sink cut-out and tight seam. Sorry about the swirl marks, I had just wiped it off and I was so tired, I didn't want to wait for it to dry before I took the picture. More finished pics to come.
This weekend was a good one to on the baby-front. She ate solid food! As suspected, Franca is a little piggy like her mom. (Piggy was my childhood nickname.) We were going to wait longer to start food, but she has been starring jealously, smacking her lips and grabbing for spoons lately, so we decided to give it a shot!
She gobbled all 5oz (1oz oatmeal w 4 oz breastmilk) and wanted more! I was worried she might barf later, but nope.
Then, later in the day I was holding her and absentmindedly picked up the spoon. Well, she grabbed my arm with both hands and tried to get the spoon into her mouth!
It was good timing for the final counter top piece, because now we have to reinstall the oven because I need to roast some sweet potatoes for her!

Franca is so precious - makes me want to start a little family. Congrats on the counters (what a relief!) and the spoon!
