Guest Poster Sara @ Russet Street Reno: 8 Reasons I Hate My Kitchen

10/12/11

Let's face it, misery loves company. That is why I've decided to feature some of my favorite DIY renovators from around the interwebbies, plus this buys my blog some time while we save $ for our next project. First guest blogger up is the always hilarious Sara @ Russet Street Reno. She and her *new* husband having been slaving away on their own house. Don't feel too bad for her though, she has a dressing room and an art room! Lucky Duck!

When Nikki asked me to do a guest post on her blog, I excitedly said YES! And then I languished in busy-town for two months and I’m finally getting around to the post now. Sorry, Nikki!

Here is my post, entited “8 Reasons I Hate My Kitchen”

1. Tall soffits + tall upper cabinets = no counter space:

2. Crazy lavender paint on the inside of random cabinets:

3. Broken backsplash that consists of plywood, broken plaster, holes, cardboard, and paper towels!

4. Snow blowing onto our counters last winter:

5. Speaking of counters, they are perma-dirty:

6. As is the vinyl floor:

7. The scalloped valance and ugly light fixture above the sink:

8. The bare wires hanging out of the ceiling that are supposed to be in a junction box:

And this list is why were are currently in the process of GUTTING the kitchen and throwing all this ugly junk into a dumpster! Visit my blog to keep up with the project, especially if you like to see grown women cry and go broke.

Thanks for having me, Nikki!
