Here they are:
- I need to brush my teeth at night. This is a serious thing and I have been trying to do it for like 3 years. OMG. I know.
- Stop messing around on my phone so much. Be more present.
- Consistently be able to stop drinking when I've had enough and not get hangovers. (I hate to admit this one, but it is a problem for me. I get having a good time and completely lose track. It's like I'm 21 all over again.)
- Listen to more music! (I keep forgetting to do the baby monitor trick.)
So help me out if you will. Any tricks for not being a smartphone addict or not over drinking? What is your favorite band or new song to rock out to?
Happy 2012 Everyone!
Loving the Civil Wars right now, although they aren't really a "rocking out" band.
ReplyDeleteSame for Milo Greene. Now I can really get my teeth into the Black Keys. If that's your thing.
And I need to brush my teeth at night too, for what it's worth.
LOL at Number 1 and number 3 - right there with you ;)
ReplyDeleteP.S. electric toothbrushes help - because they are pretty cool. But by the time I'm ready for bed it's literally - walk upstairs, fall into bed. I'm lucky if I change into jammies most nights.
P.P.S. Drinking is fun. Hangovers suck. But I have noticed that exercising EARLY in the morning helps - that way I'm tired at night so I go to bed earlier and I certainly don't look forward to working out hungover so I cut myself off. It helps me stay in check thinking about running in the morning when I have a headache. Well, sometimes it helps ;)
I totally second Deb, it super helps
ReplyDelete@Sarah - babysitter is downstairs, so I'm loading Civil War on Rhapsody. Thanks!
ReplyDelete@Deb & Meryl- I've been successful so far with the teeth brushing. It's sort of ridiculous how excited that makes me to finally do something I've been trying to for years! I do run Tues & Thurs mornings, but think I need to get back into the Saturday runs., You are so right!
the hangover resolution made me laugh, i completely agree! i have also been trying to work on this, esp. since it doesn't take much anymore for me to feel like complete crap the next day.... and sometimes even the day after. on nye i gave myself the goal of drinking 2 glasses of water between each drink and that helped so much.
ReplyDeleteI hear ya on the tooth brushing AND drinking! I think it's because I've never had a cavity, so I'm a little too "casual" about brushing. It's completely gross! But now that I'm in my 30's, I need to get it together. As far as the drinking goes. My husband and I have a system. I drink a glass of water between every cocktail/beer and my husband casually monitors it. Not in a creepy way, just in a "I've-got-your-back" kind of way. This went into place after I through a fit at the end of my best friend's wedding reception. Funny when you're 21, not so funny when you're 34. :-)
ReplyDeleteTrust me.... even if you are all snuggled up in bed be sure to brush your teeth. I got into the habit after having a few glasses of wine just crawling in bed and not brushing.... a year later I had 5 cavities :(
ReplyDeleteI too lose control sometimes and get a hangover, it always makes me so mad because then I never work out the next day, lol.
I'm with Katie on the hangover issue. If I can remember to drink a water between drinks, I'm always 100% hangover free. Also, since I'm a beer drinker, I've gotten good at switching to non-alcoholic beer after a couple full-octane beverages and it totally works! I just like to have something in my hand to sip on, I don't necessarily need the buzz.
ReplyDeleteGood luck on all your resolutions!
