Please welcome our new DAUGHTER!
My kids take the CREEPIEST ultrasound photos ever, right?
I think she may have a sense of humor already.
I'm going to be honest here. I was sort of hoping for a boy and for the dumbest reason: We have a boy name we both LOVE, another girl name? Well, back to the drawing board on that one.
I was a little worried that if the ultrasound tech said "girl" my heart would sink, but you know what? It totally didn't. Honest. It swelled with joy and anticipation and general squishiness.
I have 2 sisters and a brother. My brother is the youngest and honestly, we treated him like another sister. Don't get me wrong, he is tall, handsome (ew) and pretty manly. But the guy can DANCE and DRESS and TALK TALK TALK. I love my family. I loved my childhood. So I love that Franca will have a little sister.
Marc is already looking forward to the future conflict moderation (he's a sicko). I'm dreading the ages 13-20. (Mom - OMG. I'm soo sorry I was so mean to you!) But... having TWO girls to help me pick out shoes? Help me FINALLY learn how to apply makeup? TWO girls to show how to swing a hammer and NEVER NEVER NEVER feel like they can't do something because they are a girls? I can't wait.
Pork Chop, can't wait to meet you. Thanks for not kicking me too much (yet). Hope you like your blue-ish room.

Congratulations! I hope you find a girl name you love. We were the same way with boy names--kind of agreed on one but I'm glad we ended up having a girl.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! My sister and I are 22 months apart and I'm so grateful for her. We tried to kill each other growing up but I can't imagine life without her. Franca's a lucky girl.
ReplyDeleteso awesome. <3
ReplyDeleteYay! Sisters are the best! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteThe world needs more girls raised by parents like you to show them how to swing that hammer! (And never, never, never believe there's anything they can't do.) Congrats!
ReplyDeleteCongrats!!! And I totally second Kit. My dad taught me how to swing a hammer and play baseball and I love him for it. One of his favorite stories about me was when we were in a Little League parade and my coach yelled at me, "Meryl stop beating up the boys" because I threw one down and started punching him for making fun of me. It was possibly his proudest moment :)
ReplyDeleteBoth your girls will be amazing ladies! :)
