The Light Stays in the Picture

1/11/13

Remember my deal with Marc?

The one where when all the bulbs burn out on the dining room light fixture (the one he despises and I love) we will sell it and get a light we both agree on?

Well, the bet is off.

Because we are selling the house in March, the light stays. So the sad 4 remaining bulbs, just got joined by 9 new ones!

I decided to only replace half the bulbs because honestly, with all one million of them in, the fixture is pretty dang bright!

  1. Congratulations on your beautiful daughter - I hope all is going well! Just stopped by to say that you remain my DIY inspiration; I cribbed your chalkboard tablecloth idea and it's the best thing ever, and for my daughter's Christmas gift, I refurbed the dollhouse that my great-great grandfather made for my mother in 1948, which was then passed on to me. It's a lot like yours, and I also borrowed your idea of painting the rooms to match our house and getting similar furniture. It was a total labor of love and I'm so thrilled with how it turned out. You have the best ideas and I hope you continue to share them. I haven't been on the site in a while, though, so could you share why you decided to sell the house? I absolutely love what you've done with it; just amazing. You are an inspiration! Megan

    1. Megan,
You are truly sweet. I was having a pretty rough morning until I read this. Thank you. I'd love to see photos of your dollhouse!
I wrote more about why we are selling here: http://www.86nit.com/2012/10/the-secret-revealed.html

But really it boils down to:
1 - we are broke and tired of renovating. Want more family time.
2 - we both always wanted an uber-modern house and aren't getting any younger.

Again, thanks so much for your kind words. They really made a difference in my day.

      Nikki
