Stainin' and Poly'in'

2/8/13

DIY Renovation Confession:
I don't think I've ever stained anything before.

So that explains why I was apprehensive to tackle staining our floor patches, thresholds & back doors.  But in the spirit of "getting my mojo back" and crossing things off the Ready to Sell List, I forged ahead.

And I must say I did a pretty damn good job.

I didn't want to advertise it on the interwebs, but it has been just me and Mina solo in the house all week which is why I wanted to tackle this VERY STINKY staining and poly'ing project.  It is much easier to get a infant out of the house while it is airing out than an infant AND a toddler.

Even just the two of us, I didn't end up being able to bring myself to paint the orange parlor ceiling.  Partly because I'm lazy and partly because I just love it that much. Maybe someday. But in the meantime, I'm pretty happy having crossed two more things off the list!

  1. Yay for shortening the list and I kinda love your orange ceiling too, so modern and awesome. I have a really cool design on the ceiling in my spare room downstairs, I may paint it some really cool color just to honor you for doing yours! ;0) Make that a last min thing, it's totally awesome!
